music monday: dry the river

i’ve rediscovered the beauty of music stores. with downloads, playlists and ipods at my fingertips, i’ve almost forgotten what it felt like to hold a cd in my hands. but after wandering the streets of portland and seattle, ducking into little known record stores (where i found albums by the innocence mission and the smiths!), i began my discovering of denver by visiting twist and shout, a large independently run music store. (which happens to be next door to a great bookstore – tattered cover.) they have aisle after aisle of cds beckoning you to buy me! buy me! and accompanying the multitude of cds are conveniently placed listening stations. i always feel that after listening to a band’s album and holding the cover in my hand, i know them a little more intimately, like we are old friends catching up. it was here that i discovered a new favorite band: dry the river. enjoy!
