this has been a very un-traditional christmas. i drove back to kansas last week with a blizzard right behind me. awaiting me at my parent’s home was dust, plaster and paint. my parents are remodeling, so we waited until the 23rd to cut down the saddest looking tree i’ve ever laid eyes on. but it’s growing on all of us. the presents are still under the tree, waiting to be opened until new year’s when my sister and her family arrive. the days are spent unpacking, cleaning, buying countertops and flooring, mixed in with laughter and lots of coffee and cakes.

traditional christmas or not, i’m so thankful for the birth of Jesus. where would we be without Him?

merry christmas wherever you are!
