foodie friday: turkey burgers

have i written about my dislike of meat? who knows. i don’t really like meat though, for many reasons. but i found ground turkey on sale last week and decide to make turkey burgers. i’ve never made a burger of any kind, mainly because raw meat kind of grosses me out, but i tried and succeeded. pat on the shoulder to me.

turkey burgers
400 grams ground turkey
2 slices of dry wheat bread, crumbled
1 egg, whisked
dash of salt and pepper
1/8 t cumin
1/8 t ground mustard
2 T fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 red pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 T soy sauce

pineapple rings
hamburger buns

mix all ingredients together, using your hands. shape into 3 burgers and place on a greased skillet (med. heat), 5-10 minutes per side. while the burgers are cooking, heat another skillet (high heat, no oil), place pineapple rings and cook a couple minutes on each side.

finish off with whole wheat buns, lettuce, and cheese. to complete the meal, i used emma’s variation of cole slaw. perfection.
