foodie friday 5 (plus a little extra)

i’m a little late with the whole 2010 christmas gift-giving, but i began making a few  last week. and this is what i made:

Hot Fudge (via this site)
1 cup heavy cream
6 tablespoon of butter
½ cup corn syrup
12 ounces of semi sweet chocolate chopped or one bag of chips
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla

Melt cream, butter and corn syrup together in a saucepan until just barely boiling. When melted, remove from heat and add the chocolate and vanilla, stirring until melted. Cool to lukewarm. Pour into container and serve on ice cream.
Can be reheated in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds or if you’re like me and don’t own a microwave, set the container in a bowl of hot water until softened.

(i poured the sauce into 3 different sized jars and covered the jars with vintage fabric. a cute tea towel finished the gift!)


americans have invaded the workplace. and i have loved it! today we had house church with a family in the south of norway. i was just in awe of God’s goodness. life has straight up been hard these past months – as if everything i do is like walking through mud – takes extra energy, effort, and is simply tiring. but sitting in that home, seeing america and norway – 2 large pieces of my heart together, i saw worth in what i am doing here, that God is wherever i am and that He’s pleased. i love that He meets us in ways we didn’t even understand we needed.
